Men on bikes with knives. Then skipping up mountains. Now planning how to get free in the first silence in days.
Reading Kon Tiki, totally enthralled.

Gila National Forest. PHOAR.
Cheers for the book recommendation Reuben, I loved it.
ha!
Running rings around you in roman numerals
Some thing you are, a something else
A Mood
Softness reflected on the water
A Surface
Dimples smartly smoothed.
On the water, teasing out a ripple
Stillness Broken
Stillness Resumed
Expression breaking crests
Shadows ebbing cross the land
In Tune.
A Second
A Small forever
A Ness
A Murky Mirror for Silhouettes
Merging
Leaf littered
Pins pricking the water
From the bridge
Where I married you, without you knowing
In the dark, in ernest, in jest
On the water.
A Heron
A Handshake
A Wing Flap
A Grass Path
A Toast
Here’s mud in your eye.
Sheepishly shrugging it off
Like Some wise old sage
Its not worth getting upset about
But Im so full of tempestuous rage im plagued
Im seething inside and out
Ive been snaked by an angel cake
Short changed and left for dead
Feeling far from gracious
Growing up

Having my own kitchen again for the first time in months i’ve been excitedly cleaning, reorganizing and finally cooking, a good 20 hours, windows wide open, records on and i’m feeling quite settled in. The kitchen is almost identical to the little old haydn road one that churned out a fair few meals for its size and design.
This Week I have made:
Wholemeal Caraway Bread
Olive and Black pepper Ciabatta
Roast Pepper and Cumin Hummus
Lightly Minted Guacamole
Red Cabbage and Leek Colslaw With Homemade Garlic Mayo
Aubergine Parmesan Bake
Peanut Butter Death Biscuits
Spiced Coconut Macaroons with Dark Chocolate Bottoms
Sweet and Spicy Red Cabbage
Falafel
Savory Carrot Scones with Cheese
Honeyed Banana Cake with Walnuts and Prunes
A lot of strawberry ribeana….
Tomorrow 60 Samosas.
Today is - domestic blitz
desperate to holiday
this settlement is hardly a city
lifeless dolls houses
cropping up
in a crust
a wilderness
with a dearth of nature
thin on the ground and failed to bloom.
around here
you come to appreciate a naff cob
for all its worth-
big as your head
and full of mayonnaise.
crossing over the scrub to the station
worn in wasteland paths
pressed down by us corner cutters
back street babes with
back of the hand confidence
cocky village mentality
un curbed even
by the scrutiny of the sun
baring down on the bleak crud
trash and char
a careless picnic in the filth
desolate leftovers
from making hay
Its grim but i know where i am
on my way to being lost
i’m leaving my bearings behind
Taking the Clipper home is worth every penny of £6. Speeding away from central with the sun going down in the romantic haze (of smog) with the wind rushing through yer locks, nothing can contend.
